  • Operations Manager – Ottawa, ON

    The Operations Manager works with the Pharmacy Manager (PM) in leading and guiding day to day pharmacy processes & operations. They will be focused primarily in the pharmacy shipping area, ensuring consistent, accurate and efficient workflow, manage costs and leading initiatives to improve operations performance. The Operations Manager is responsible for building a cohesive pharmacy team with an emphasis on providing an exceptional customer experience.

    Specific Responsibilities

    • Maintaining day-to-day quality and accuracy of shipments and returns
    • Coordinating staff workflow to ensure shipments schedules are followed.
    • Identifying process gaps, analyzing and solving quality related issues, and leading quality and process improvement projects utilizing LEAN methodology.
    • Responsible for recruitment, hiring, training and performance management for front-line employees.
    • Drive employee professional development plans and provide employees with performance feedback.
    • Initiate and communicate implementation of new programs to employees to ensure efficiency within the pharmacy.
    • Provide leadership and direction to front-line employees in the pharmacy in accordance to CATC’s policies and procedures, and customer-focused initiatives.
    • Supporting the development of standardized processes and procedures.

    Requirements

    • A university degree or college diploma in a relevant discipline.
    • 3 years of work experience in a managerial capacity in production, warehousing or manufacturing. Experience in pharmacy operations is an asset, but not required.
    • LEAN certification is an asset.
    • Strong leadership skills with a focus on operations and business efficiency processes.
    • Experience in identifying process improvement opportunities, developing these through to business case and then successfully delivering and embedding change.
    • Proficient in use of standard business software (MS Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Familiarity with Kroll is an asset.
